I think that I should absolutely knit the Corgis one or two of these (scroll down for Corgi content). You know, in my free time. What do you think? so shall you rip. Stupid short row heels. I’m about to abandon Attempt #2, rip back, and try for Attempt #3 on these socks. One side of the heel looks quite nice. The other side of the heel, however, looks as if it had been gnawed on by beavers. Wool-eating beavers. (An aside to my husband – Yes, dear. I do know the photos are out of focus. I also realize that they are over-exposed. And I did notice that the color balance was off. Yes, I am aware that it pains you to look at them. Sorry. You try taking close-ups of your own heel with a point-and-shoot camera in poor lighting, with no off-camera flash. And no Photoshop.) I’m going to go have a wee glass of wine now. Then I will decide whether to fold laundry or rip my sock. I love my mailman. He’s a really nice guy, he has cookies for the Corgis and, best of all, he brought me this today: Isn’t it lovely? I signed up for several classes at this year’s Madrona Winter Retreat. This is the kit for “Eek! Steeks as Design Elements” taught by the inimitable Mary Scott Huff, author of ‘The New Stranded Colorwork: Techniques and Patterns for Vibrant Knitwear‘. I’m so excited to start knitting this. Poor Nutkin may have to wait. I didn’t do much knitting today, but I did manage to bake four loaves of bread from scratch. (Yay, me!) Oh, and I did one more thing – I accompanied the Cupcakes to Beauty and the Beast. Recap here, with photos and everything. The show and “Prince and Princess (After-)Party” lasted much later than I had planned. Luckily for me friends came over for dinner tonight AND brought the dinner with them so we had something to eat. Now it’s late and I’ve wasted, er, spent far too much time noodling around in Photoshop to actually compose a decent post. I’ll do better tomorrow, I promise. |
