I do my best to plan the week’s dinners in advance. When the Cupcakes were still very little and I was working my meal plan was the last fragile line of defense between me and a very hungry and unhappy family. Now that I’m attempting to blog on a slightly more regular basis (of course I’ve been on a once-every-year-or-two schedule, so it should be quite easy to improve) I’m planning to make my weekly meal plan do double-duty and serve as blog fodder as well.
Up this week:
| Main Dish | |
| Monday | Mama’s Mac-n-Cheese (adapted from How to Cook Everything) |
| Tuesday | Parisian Chicken Mother’s Best p. 146 |
| Wednesday | Pasta with Broccoli Rabe Food Matters p. 251 |
| Thursday | Mushroom Risotto |
| Friday | Parents’ Night Out |
| Saturday | Minestrone Soup |
| Sunday | Out |
I plan everything out in Excel including my grocery shopping lists – I do love a good spreadsheet. What you see is pretty much what I print out and hang on the fridge, minus the side dishes and other things I’ll be cooking during the week. This week’s “extras” include apple crisp and bread. I’ve also included a link to the cookbook I use, if I use one.
On to knitting…
Nutkin Number One has been growing, growing, growing as the girls say, but not as quickly as I’d like.

Today I also picked up that last ball of yarn I was sure I’m going to need to make the long-promised sweaters for the Cupcakes. I’d better stop typing and start knitting. Overdue promises await.

Menu sounds delicious. I was hoping for recipes for your fabulous dishes. I don’t have time to go out and buy cookbooks. Oh well.
