Thirty-Six Cupcakes
That was the final count. Well, it was actually 42, but there were a few ‘casualties’ during the process. Quality control is important, you know.
Aren’t they pretty?
I’m very proud of myself. This was my very first attempt at homemade birthday cupcakes. I think that they turned out pretty darned well.
Sadly, I learned a life lesson this afternoon; never, ever stick your bare hand into a sink full of soapy water if it has a decorating tip floating around in it somewhere. I swished my hand around in the sink and came up with a very sharp decorating tip wedged onto my finger. It took me a good five minutes to pry each of those little points out of my flesh in order to pull the bugger off of my finger. I now have a very sore finger and a hole in my fingernail where one of the sharp little points dug in. Do not repeat my mistake.
*******
Tomorrow morning I’m going out to the big Blue Moon Fiber Arts sale with a girlfriend of mine. It should be quite an event. DH is going to take the girls to Princess Ballet for me. (Saturday mornings are usually his morning off.) This means that he will have the maxivan and I will be forced to limit my purchases to what I can stuff into a mid-sized station wagon. I guess I’ll have to practice some restraint.
