Toddler Art

Finally!! A Family FotoFun Friday (FFFF) Challenge I can participate in!!!

The Cupcakes get to do art every day at daycare, which makes me tremendously happy. However, as I mentioned in a previous post, their daily artistic expression results in a whole lot of ‘refrigerator art’ around our house. This is especially tough for us because our stainless steel fridge won’t hold magnets. But I digress…

For the past month or so I’ve been scanning and posting some of the girl’s minor masterpieces. For this week’s FFFF I would like to present four pieces from Sarah’s and Heike’s ‘Spring’ series:

BTW, glitter is really hard to get off your scanner bed. Just thought you might want to know.

Just Like Their Father

Over the past few months we have been warily circling the idea of potty training the Cupcakes. They have their own little potties here at home but they haven’t shown any kind of sustained interest in them. They’ll run in, sit down for a moment, then run right back out again.

But things seem to have changed, at least a little. I left the girls alone with their father for a few days. Sixteen hours after I came home he left on a business trip. In the rush of the hand-off it seems that he forgot to tell me that the Cupcakes had picked up a habit from their father.

Do you think that Land of Nod carries toddler magazine racks?

Sock Camp Impressions

I had a wonderful time at Sock Camp. I met some really terrific people, learned a lot, and it was amazing to spend so much time actually knitting. And sleeping. The sleeping was pretty terrific, too.

I have to admit, I’ve been experiencing a little re-entry shock since I came back on Saturday. DH left for China less than 24 hours after I got home. Cue the violins, please… No more all day knitting. No more all night sleeping. Poor me…

I’ll just have to console myself by posting some photos of Sock Camp. Especially since I don’t seem to be able to come up with anything clever to write.

Sock Camp was on Orcas Island. We completely lucked out and had nice weather nearly the whole time.

So many socks.

But they paled before The Chickens.

When Geeks Knit

Anything can happen. They might knit up a double helix, or even a model of the human digestive system. The entire human digestive system, tongue to tail, so to speak. You can see a picture of the finished work here. Very cool.

Thanks to David Reidy of the Sticks and String blog and podcast for the alert.
