Freezing Rain

I was going to write about how Heike has figured out how to remove her diapers without actually removing her clothing first, but instead I would like to register a complaint, a very loud and deeply dissatisfied complaint, with weather.com and my local TV weather people. I am sitting here in my living room listening to the sound of freezing rain as it hits the ground. Nobody said a blessed word about freezing rain during their agitated ‘OMG, it might actually SNOW. SNOW!!! We could get one, two, maybe even three inches of SNOW!!!!!!’ weather forecasts today. (In this part of the world actual, real, live snow causes TV stations to send reporters to stand on freeway ramps for hours talking about the snow. Often before the actual, real, live snow really, actually shows up. It doesn’t snow much here.)

I do not fear and inch or two of snow. An inch or two of freezing rain scares the bejesus out of me. And being trapped indoors with two very energetic two-year-olds for a whole entire day scares me even more.

Please do not make me face my fears without adequate warning. It makes me cranky.
